While watching the Hoosiers, Crawford’s home catches fire

Last week, IU basketball recruit Jordan Crawford traveled to Ann Arbor to watch the Hoosiers take on the Michigan Wolverines.

Crawford, who is currently the starting point guard for Hargrave Military Academy, traveled with his mother and his younger brother from their Detroit home to watch his future team play. Most likely to his disappointment, the Hoosiers lost the Feb. 17 game, 58-54.

But the IU recruit’s weekend worsened ten-fold when he returned to Detroit to find half of his house destroyed. A fire occured in the Crawford household with no family members present — Crawford’s father, Joe Sr., was at work when the fire started. The blaze took out the top story of the Crawford’s home.

No one was injured in the fire, but significant damage was done to the house.
