INDIANA 83, GEORGIA TECH 79

Mike White hustles.

Indiana coach Kelvin Sampson said after the game that he wanted his team to rebound well and get to the line frequently today.

The Hoosiers had a 37-32 edge in rebounds — against a bigger team — and got to the line 38 times compared to Georgia Tech’s 20.

Eric Gordon, of course, was the guy who made the most difference there. He hit 13-of-16 free throws and finished with 29 points. He also played all 40 minutes.

Besides the suspended Jordan Crawford, Indiana also could not use freshman G/F Brandon McGee. He has been sick since returning from Chicago and did not practice today, so he could not play.

On the un-redshirting of Mike White, Sampson had this to say: “We can’t go out on the transaction wire and pick somebody up. We have somebody right here on the bench who can help our team.”

Mike White, by the way, had six rebounds and two points in 20 minutes. DeAndre Thomas played only two minutes.
