First Half:

Indiana 10, Albany 7-The Hoosiers stay with the starting five through the first five nminutes of the ballgame. Freshman Jori Davis checks in at first timeout. Amber Jackson and Jamie Braun both have four points.

Albany 19, Indiana 10-The Danes put together a 12-0 run with a couple of 3s from different players. IU’s coach Felisha Legette-Jack calls for a word with her team.

Freshman Whitney Lindsay has now checked in and is running the point. This frees up Jamie Braun to play the wing guard position while Nikki Smith takes a breather.

Whitney Thomas and Kim Roberson are both on the Hoosier bench with two fouls each, and there’s still 10 minutes to go in first half.

Albany 21, Indiana 16-The Danes are keeping their energy up, but the Hoosiers are battling hard to stay close. Both teams are coming up with steals around midcourt and between the keys. 9:07 to play…

Albany coach Trina Patterson whistled for a technical foul and Smith makes both free throws to bring the hoosiers within three.

Albany 23, Indiana 20-Jackson has 10 points to pace the IU team, but while she’s shooting 4 of 6, the team is 7 of 17. Britney McGee has 8 for Albany with a pair of 3s. 7:48 to go.

Albany 34, Indiana 25 at Halftime-The Danes are outhustling the Hoosiers, plain and simple. IU is trying to do their thing, but Albany is everywhere to break up passes, create turnovers, or take away a driving lane. The only thing keeping Indiana in it is a few big misses by the Danes that would have made the deficit seem much harder to climb out of.

Half Stats: Amber Jackson has 12 points and two Danes have 8 in Gia Sanders and Britney McGee. IU has 13 turnovers and is getting beat on the rebounds, 27-17.
