Indiana to be a six seed?

We’ll have updates tonight on IU’s NCAA Tournament seed, with reaction from coach Dan Dakich and the Hoosiers.

With the CBS selection show starting at 6 p.m., we’ll know soon where the Hoosiers will be heading for their first-round game. Before losses to Penn State and Minnesota, some of the
so-called bracketologists had the Hoosiers as high as a four seed. Today, they’re being listed as a five or six seed.

SI.com, CBS2.com and Rivals.com all have IU as a six seed in bracket prejections that were updated today. ESPN.com has IU as a five seed.

I keep hearing people say IU will play in Denver, Tampa, Anaheim or maybe Washington, D.C. or Birmingham. Well, that covers more than half the possibilities for first-round play. At this point I have no idea to what city I’ll be buying airline tickets in an hour or so.

Here’s three of the latest predictions for the Hoosiers’ first-round destination and opponent:

ESPN – Joe Lunardi
Midwest Region
Tampa
5. Indiana (25-8) vs. 12. St. Joseph’s (21-11)

SI.com – Stewart Mandel
South Region
Anaheim
6. Indiana (25-8) vs. 11. St. Joseph’s (21-11)

CBS2.com – James Worthy
East Region
Birmingham
6. Indiana (25-8) vs. 11. Arizona State (19-12)

  1. A number 8 seed?? North Carolina in the second game if they get past Arkansas.

I just want to get this season behind us, get a new coach ASAP, try to keep the recruits intact and re-group.

If someone would have told me a couple of months ago we would be an 8 I would have thought they were crazy. This season has been such a letdown.

  2. what can you guys expect with the play of late? 24-8 vs. Minnesota at one point? We are playing like a bubble team. This is the time of year when real teams are highlighted. We do NOT have a team in my opinion. The kids have had multiple games to step up and put this crap aside. It has not happened yet. Nothing against the kids. It just ain’t happening. They do not have it.
