After finally reading through Bob Kravitz’s column this afternoon, I know. Well, I’m relatively sure. I mean, there’s room for interpretation.
A quick bit of background: Bob Knight was in Indianapolis last night appearing on a show called “Mickey’s Corner,” which is, from what I’ve gathered, not exactly hard hitting.
But at one point, the host did dangle a chance for Knight to take a swipe at Kelvin Sampson, a coach he had feuded with while they competed in the Big 12 and who many of Knight’s former players openly criticized.
Knight, of course, took it.
The closest we got to juicy was when Maurer asked a general question — not a Sampson-related question — about cheating in recruiting. “If you get caught cheating, they should shoot you,” Knight said. “Because you’re too dumb to be alive.”
