Terone Johnson picks Purdue

North Central (Ind.) guard Terone Johnson committed to Purdue on Sunday, reports the Indianapolis Star.

Johnson, a 6-2,  195 pound guard, had interest from and in Indiana during the late spring, but it seemed to lessen — on both sides — later in the summer.

Johnson is a powerful guard who averaged 18 points as a sophomore last year. He joins Danville’s Travis Carroll in what is shaping up to be another strong in-state class for the Boilermakers.

The Hoosiers have yet to take a commitment for the 2010 class; another player Tom Crean was recruiting, Georgia guard Jordan McRae, gave a verbal to Tennessee over the weekend.
