No. 6 seed for IU soccer

The Indiana men’s soccer team was awarded the No. 6 seed for the NCAA Tournament Monday night. The Hoosiers expected to be among the top 16 seeds in the 48-team field, but were clearly rewarded for strength of schedule (No. 3 in RPI) and a strong finish to the season with three straight wins prior to Sunday’s Big Ten Tournament final against Michigan State.

The Hoosiers will play the St. Louis-Drake winner on Tuesday, Nov. 25, at Armstrong Stadium. If they win that game, the Hoosiers are in line to play Michigan for a third time this season. That game would be on Saturday, Nov. 29, at 7 p.m. at Armstrong Stadium.

  1. Wow that was a generous seed. We were left out of the big time major foes until the final four. We should have a shot at it. If we play St Johns that will be a very grind it out type of game. Go Hoosiers!

  2. This is about as good of a bracket as we could’ve asked for, and gives IU an excellent shot at getting to the Final Four.

I hope that IU’s been saving up the scoring-multiple-goal-games for the postseason, because that’s how the Hoosiers will get to the Final Four. But these guys have shown a lot of talent this year and just need to loosen up a little in front of the net.

Just knock the ball around and score some goals- Go Hoosiers!
