  1. This would be the upset of the year if IU beats MSU in East Lansing – I’m guessing that Vegas will have the spread at around 17 points.

  2. I’m guessing the spread is at least 20. MSU just CRUSHED Minnesota, a top 20 team, what do you think will happen to us?

  3. This is going to be brutal. 17 points? We were giving 18 at Illinois, 16.5 at Ohio State, 17 at Kentucky. This will be higher than all those. Anything less than 20 and I’m pounding MSU.

  4. NW beat MSU with a 1-3-1 defense and they start 2 freshman. NW offense runs the clock. By combining these two ingredients, which shortens the game and playing a great game, IU can maybe pull off the upset of the year. Morgan is still not playing, that helps too. I wouldn’t bet on it, but it beats talking about what the Vegas odds are going to be.

  5. Who’s to say that Dumes won’t continue his great shooting? Or Roth will find some openings? If we can keep the turnover number low again, and prevent offensive rebounds there is always a chance.

  6. A win might be improbable but not impossible. Look back at Cornell, TCU, the first game with Iowa when they had Tate, Minnesota and Northwestern — at Northwestern — and we either won (TCU and Cornell neither of which were cupcakes) or were in all of the others until the very last. This bunch doesn’t know the word quit and may just knock off some heavy favorites. Not related to this particular subject but still important in my opinion is that the current roster is composed of what I call “keepers” or players who will probably stay with the program rather than be one-and-done.

  7. All good points. I think they are on the cusp of looking like a basketball team. I also think that Dumes may turn out to be something special.

  8. Bettor, I get a kick out of your outlandish comments but you better enjoy it this year because IU will be right back on top next year and years to come.

  9. Izzo favors Crean, will tell his guys to let up and go easy and MSU will win by 27. Can you say Mackey!!!!!!!!!!!!!
