Live audio of Bloomington South-Detroit Country Day

Here’s a heads-up on our coverage for Saturday’s big Bloomington South (17-0)/Detroit Country Day (18-0) game that will offer by far the biggest challenge IU recruit Jordan Hulls and his South teammates have faced this season.

Thanks to WGCL, HTO will be able to provide a live audio feed of WGCL’s broadcast of the game. What this means is that anyone who can’t make it to the game or to the radio can listen to all the action on HTO. Brought to you by HeraldTimesOnline.com and www.wgclradio.com. We’ll have a link to that coverage here on HoosiersHQ.com.

The pre-game broadcast will start at 4:05 p.m. Saturday, with tip-off at 4:30, so you can catch this game immediately after IU’s 2 p.m. game at Purdue.

H. Williams Kellenberger and I will both be at the game, and our live coverage will include Hugh’s Twitter feed of stats and updates (available on the lefthand side of Quick Hits, or as txt updates on your cell phone) and a live, in-game chat with fans, similar to our HoosiersHQ.com live game chats.

We’ll have more, of course, but this is the immediate, live game coverage. Thanks to our partners at WGCL for helping to make this live audio feed happen.

As you may know, USA Today’s rankings this week have Detroit Country Day ranked No. 4 in the country and Bloomington South No. 5. I don’t put a lot of stock on national high school rankings, but having two teams listed in the Top 5 has added a lot of interest to this game. The last of the tickets for the game sold out today.

ESPN, which has named the game its national high school game of the week, provides a run-down on Detroit Country Day’s imposing starting lineup: 6-foot-11 DaShonte Riley, 6-8 Donnovan Kirk (signed with Miami) and 6-5 Jordan Dumars (South Florida), Bennie Sowler (Michigan State for football) and 6-1 junior Ray McCallum.
