BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana head football coach Bill Lynch announced Jordan Marquette has signed a National Letter of Intent and will attend Indiana University in the fall of 2009.

A 6-3, 295-pound offensive lineman, Marquette is currently enrolled at Fullerton (Calif.) Community College. He redshirted the 2006 season and lettered in 2007 and 2008. Last season, Marquette earned all-conference honors and was named the team’s lineman of the year.

Off the field, Marquette earned the National Football Foundation & College Football Hall of Fame Scholar-Athlete Award following the 2008 campaign.

Marquette attended Huntington Beach High School and earned three varsity letters. As a senior, he collected first team All-Sunset League accolades and was named lineman of the year. Marquette also lettered two years in baseball.

The son of Doug and Tricia Marquette was born on March 24, 1988, and intends to study business.

Marquette is the 19th newcomer to the IU program this offseason. Indiana signed 18 student-athletes on National Signing Day on Feb. 4. Lynch’s second recruiting class included one four-star recruit and 12 three-star recruits in the and rankings.

  1. This is good news. Since I’m not a member of the Fire Bill Lynch squad, it looks like there have been some recruits brought in that can help the Hoosiers and to me this looks like BL has done a good job of attracting some good talent. I can’t wait for the season to begin.
