A skilled big man for 2012

Kenny Kaminski, a 6-7 forward from Medina (Ohio) in the class of 2012, is beginning to receive some interest from Indiana.

Assistant coach Tim Buckley watched Kaminski play for Team Pride (Michigan) on Friday during the Kentucky Hoopfest.

What Buckley saw was a skilled big man that scored 13 points, including a 3-pointer, in a win.

“We’re getting a lot of exposure and our team is playing well together,” Kaminski said. “It’s always good to know someone is watching, but I try not to think about it and just go out there and play my game.”

In addition to Indiana, Ohio State and Michigan State are interested in Kaminski, who said he can play small or power forward, depending on matchups.

Kaminski did visit Indiana’s campus earlier this summer.

“I really liked it,” Kaminski said. “I liked the location, Assembly Hall is great and I also like coach Crean a lot and how he brought back the Indiana program.”
