Bashore signs with Twins

Former Indiana lefty Matt Bashore signed with the Minnesota Twins over the weekend and is expected to be sent to the Elizabethton Twins of the Appalachian League.

Bashore went 7-5 with a 4.07 ERA and for the Hoosiers in 2009. He struck out 108 and walked 30 in 98 innings. He allowed just two hits and struck out nine in seven scoreless innings against Minnesota in the Big Ten Tournament, which the Hoosiers went on to win for the first time since 1996.

Bashore joins Hoosiers Eric Arnett, Evan Crawford, Joey O’Gara, Josh Phegley and Kipp Schutz as 2009 MLB draftees that have signed with pro teams.
