Shaquille Jefferson commits to Hoosiers

Indiana has added another safety to it the incoming class of 2010.

Shaquille Jefferson, from Lexington, Ohio, committed today. He was recruited by Bobby Johnson.

The 6-foot, 180-pound defensive back is not rated by Scout.com or Rivals.com.

He’s the third safety in the class. Indiana will lose three starters in the secondary after this season (Nick Polk, Austin Thomas and Ray Fisher). Most of his interest appeared to be coming from MAC schools.

We’ll have more on this to come.

  1. If IU can be better than all of the MAC teams, that makes them a 4-5 win team at a minimum. Last year, the Hoosiers lost to TWO MAC schools. Win those, and 2008 is not seen as a bad year for IU football.

  2. this kid is rated the #30 prospect in the state of Ohio over on the Ohio State rivals site — pretty good considering most of the guys ahead of him are 3 & 4 star. Also, arguably our top recruit
(jibreel black) is not even rated — and he has offers from many high profile teams. So jefferson might be a pretty good find.
