Etherington named to Junior All-Stars

Austin Etherington, a 2011 verbal commit out of Hamilton Heights, has been selected as one of six northern players for the Indiana Junior All-Stars.

Etherington will play in one of two exhibitions against the Indiana Senior All-Stars.

The core six (which will play in both games) is Pike’s Marquis Teague, Lawrence North’s Michael Chandler, Bloomington South’s Dee Davis, Gary Wallace’s Branden Dawson and Washington’s Cody Zeller.

Etherington is joined in the north six by, among others, Muncie Central’s Jeremiah Davis.

Princeton’s Jalen Packer, Terre Haute North’s Justin Gant and Bloomington South’s Matt Carlino are among the southern six.

  1. Is Etherington good enough to contribute as a freshman. Also, who can we compare his game with? I have not seen him play and am curious.

  2. Let’s just hope we keep this guy. He seems like a good one. Similar to Reeves Nelson at UCLA, who made big contributions as a frosh.

  3. How true he should be considered a keeper. I am with J Pat in wanting to hear from someone who has seen him play.

  4. Seen him play.

    Athletic wing who can shoot.

If you want an Indiana kid, here is an Indiana kid. He can shoot. Also, if our offense gets uptempo, he’ll be able to run in the open floor and finish.

His defense needs a little work, but overall he should be a very solid player.

  5. J Pat/Hoosier Clarion,

ITH has a video of Austin Etherington Here

You can also see more videos, Q&A’s, a fan report and other stuff from ITH Here

  6. Like the looks of him. Thanks for the video David C.
By the way, it sounds like they are pronouncing his last name “Errington.” Does that sound right?

  7. Hugh, you only named 5 of the core 6. Who’s missing?

I’ve seen Etherington play as well. Jubilee succinctly sums him up. I would go so far as to say he’s a poor man’s Luke Recker (I mean that as a compliment).
