IU releases spring depth chart

Along with its spring prospectus, Indiana also put out its first depth chart for the 2010 season. It should be stressed that it is extremely premature, and that most of the reason it’s even being released is for the preview magazines who have to write their pieces shortly after spring games. For instance, pay no attention to the fact that sophomore Adam Follett is listed as the backup quarterback, because it is pretty likely that when the dust settles, that job will go to either Edward Wright-Baker or Dusty Kiel.

But one way or another, it’s a depth chart, and it follows.

  1. Finch will never play?

Come on. He can’t beat out a guy that played offense last year? What’s the REAL story?

  2. Did you even read what Dustin wrote? I have no idea how much Finch will play, but the depth chart will change about 500 times over the next few weeks.

And before someone says it, no, Jerimy didn’t start at Florida.

  3. Perhaps Jerimy Finch should be moved to WLB – the position that he played at UF before he got injured? Don’t tell me that he can’t beat out Chad Sherer…

  4. Where’s Wright-Baker at QB?! Is he redshirting this year? If Ben got hurt last year he was going to be the QB. Where is he? I like Ben, but WB MUCH better than him.

  5. Jimmy you are a little testy over the JF situation huh?

Hep really liked the kid. He signed and went to UF and played as a true freshman. He applied to transfer to IU and it was a big story. He hasn’t played much. Last year he couldn’t beat out the super seniors ahead of him. This year many of them are gone aren’t they? Now a player moving from offense that is recovering from injury/surgery(?) is listed ahead of him already.

I saw him block a few punts two years ago. Last year he wasn’t on the punt return team (much?).

I’m not in the locker room. I’m just wondering about the kid.
