  1. Welcome to IU Jeff Howard. It’s good to see a kid willing to walk-on and play for IU.

  2. If you lack any sense of objectivity and only focus on the stats or stars like some people on this blog, who I will not mention, then this kid must be a stud and instantly better than Guy-Marc Michel with his 16.8 pts and 12.9 rebounds per game average. Not to mention that he is an Indiana kid which elevates his perceived talent level exponentially.
What is Crean thinking? Bringing in an Indiana kid that is 6-8? Doesn’t he know there are only a few seats left at the end of the bench. I’m infuriated by this mismanagement of padded bench chairs. Next thing you know we’ll have kids sitting on the floor because there are no chairs to fill all the butts.

Love that paragraph. 4gastrointestinalbypasses will invent another a$$hole to crap on the kid.

  4. And you like the decision to offer him a walk-on spot on the team? Who made that decision? Was it desperation for all the horrible mistakes preceding? Isn’t it just a band-aid on the 20″ pipe pumping out poor decision after poor decision into the Gulf of Alford? Come on…You can do it…PUsh! PUsh out them hate turds!
I love it when you’re constipated.

  5. Good walk-on pick up. I said before probably a month or 2 ago I thought we needed to start improving our walk-ons and get better guys to practice against every day. This is a step in that direction, keep doing that over the years and it will pay off.

  6. And who made the decision, 4guards? Come on..you can do it…Just push it out into those Depends, wad up the mess, and chuck another pair at the Nerf hoop with the picture our coach as backboard…..SWOOSH and one!

  7. Swoosh- I can already here his response: “It was the ‘name’ made the decision; it was ‘IU’ and it’s legendary past that got the kid to sign, despite Crean’s best effort to dissuade him.”

  8. You guys seem to be under the false impression that I believe every single thing Crean does is wrong.
There are times I agree with his decisions as well. This is one of them.
I am not like the Crean Apologists where you say everything he does is right and never think he does anything wrong.

  9. Tards- You are wrong and anti-Crean on the issue that matters most.

This issue is: does a coach who won almost 200 games against 90 losses at a major conference school deserve more than one year with his first big top-10 recruiting class at IU before we slander him, assail his decisions, and call for his ouster?

THe rational and most popular answer is, “Of course.” (to quote Fred Glass on Bill Lynch)

The other answer, popular amongst a small deranged group of bloggers, is “no way.” This is where you fall

  10. anti-4tickturds,

    Exactly.

And it’s sad to think 4guards has planted such an ugly seed of doubt behind every move our coach, that I know wonder if Crean’s placement of the kid from Westfield on our roster should be viewed as an act of appeasement toward the Yacht Club crowd wishing nothing more than his own demise? It begs the question if our coach truly has the required grit/conviction to do things his way and build a team his own construction(a topic alluded to in the post by Chris M. on Korman’s “A fascinating few days in the world of misbehavin’” thread). Can he be his own man or is he simply giving into pressures, buying time, and force-fitting pieces of a puzzle destined to be far removed from his own coaching portrait?

  11. The importance you give to the underlying “fault” of 4guards’ minuscule opinions have zero influence upon the tectonic plates pushing to-and-fro the Richter scale of rational debates between just and true Hoosier fans.

If Crean trips on a shoelace he cries EARTHQUAKE!

  12. I’m confident that CTC dedicates zero time to the opinions of the likes of 4tards and his conjoined twin, JB.

  13. Its ALL 4guards fault!!

BJ is making a late, unexpected push for the Basketbrat award of the Hoosier Scoop.

Watch out for BJ 4tards, this guy covets your title!

  14. JB’s invoking of 4tards kinda reminds me of my arch conservative father-in-law. In the midst of an otherwise sane discussion he will blurt out something to the tune of, “Well, you know what Hitler would do in that situation?”
He, also, doesn’t have a clue how asinine that is.

  15. Are the Indiana Hoosier baseball players in the above picture…

    a. double checking their High Five/Low Five depth perception?

    b. dancing with imaginary victory fairies?

    c. suffering from a rare contagious form of Hesitantly Indecisive Congratulatory Disorder(H.I.C.D.)?..sometimes manifesting into symptomatic episodes of invisible hugging.

    d. working out the kinks to Bob Uecker’s newly released,All Strikes and No Balls: Stretching Out with Ballet..?

    e. participating in another embarrassing macho-laden session of comparing perfect follow-through forms a bowling ball toss?

GIVE ME FIVE!! GIVE ME A D-5!

  16. I was thinking the same thing JB, and believe me it is not a compliment. I bet that is some family reunion.

  17. I think I’d like both the Father-in-law and the Grandad. Makes me think of my Grandfathers, both were a handfull.

  18. 4guards- If you and B.J. don’t think it is a compliment, then it becomes an even bigger compliment to me.
