Patterson No. 78, Jurkin No. 137 in Rivals150

Both of Indiana’s verbal commitments were in’s top 150, announced today.

Ron Patterson came in at No. 78, and Peter Jurkin was No. 137.

Patterson may be a little low, though it’s hard to judge the different between No. 50 and No. 100. As I Tweeted earlier, dunks are highly valued and defense is not. So is staying uncommitted (the sites rely on a hit-based business model and devoted fanbases + uncommitted prospects = lots of hits).

Here is where the rest of Indiana’s targets fell:

10 — Hanner Perea

17 — Yogi Ferrell

24 — Gary Harris

25 — D’Vauntes Smith-Rivera

39 — Jeremy Hollowell

56 — A.J. Hammons

71 — T.J. Warren

92 — Mitch McGary

99 — DeJuan Marrero

118 — Glenn Robinson III

137 — Peter Jurkin

  1. This is 2012.
Looks about right. Would probably lower Hollowell a little and Jurkin also.

  2. Who really cares? The world is going to end in 2012 anyway, before these guys even set foot on campus.

  3. John C, the world is to end December 21 or 22 of 2012. So we will get 8-10 games in before termination. We have to think of our historical record and make sure that they are WINS! Patterson should be 50-60 and Jurkin should be 30-40. Is there actually any basketball person out there who would take Hammons, Warren, McGary, Marrero or Robinson over Jurkin? No coach of a top 100 program would!
