Rams let Adeyanju go

Defensive end Victor Adeyanju became the latest former Hoosier to be released by an NFL club, when the St. Louis Rams terminated his contract Sunday as teams made their final roster cuts.

Also released this past weekend were defensive back Ray Fisher (Colts), wide receiver James Hardy (Bills), linebacker Jammie Kirlew (Broncos), linebacker Will Patterson (Texans), safety Nick Polk (Texans), guard Isaac Sowells (Bengals) and running back Chris Taylor (Patriots).

Six former Hoosiers remain on NFL rosters: guard Kris Dielman (Chargers), running back BenJarvus Green Ellis (Patriots), corner back Tracy Porter (Saints), wide receiver Antwaan Randle El (Steelers), wide receiver Courtney Roby (Saints) and offensive tackle Rodger Saffold (Rams).

  1. Still some respectable names representing the Hoosiers on the Big Stage, even after the cuts.

Let’s not forget about Marcus Thigpen, CFL star. When I was in Vancouver last month, a friend of mine who is a GM at a local restaurant said that when CFL players come to eat, they drive up in 20 year old Chevys and use coupons to order food. It’s an unglamorous life, I tell ya, but at least the health care is affordable and a good quality.
