IU’s other athletes to take the field

The vast majority of Indiana’s athletes never get a chance to take the field in front of 50,000 fans. Outside of the football and men’s basketball team, few of them ever see a tenth of that.

But on Saturday, they’ll get the chance, if only briefly. Indiana athletic director Fred Glass said that before Saturday’s game against Michigan, at the time before the game  that the school’s freshmen in attendance usually run across the field, it will be the rest of the school’s student athletes that dash through Memorial Stadium.

“It’s kind of keeping with our 24 sports, one team theme,” Glass said. “And I know a lot of our teams and a lot of our athletes are jacked up about this.”
