Lynch: Hager out for the season

Junior offensive tackle Josh Hager is out for the season with a torn ACL, Indiana coach Bill Lynch said on his radio show on Monday night.

The 6-9, 302-pounder started at right tackle on Saturday in place of the injured James Brewer. Hager injured his knee on the first series, however, and didn’t return.

“I really feel bad for Josh Hager,” Lynch said. “Josh, we just found this out this afternoon, he tore his ACL. He’s a fourth-year junior. He worked so hard andhe finally got a chance to start. It was the first series of the first game he started. It was really one of those unusual non-contact kind of plays that kind of got him in a bad situation. … He’ll be out the rest of the year, and I’m sure he’ll have some surgery.”

  1. That’s horrible to hear, thoughts are with him and hope for a speedy recovery. His guy is a mountain of a man, was looking forward to see what he could do when he finally got a chance to start. Good luck and see you next year Josh.

  2. When it rains it pours for our O-Line…..our lack of a running game will only continue to get worse unfortunately….Hope Ben’s rocket arm doesn’t run out of fuel!
