The NCAA Tournament draw for men’s soccer was announced this afternoon, and Indiana (9-7-2) was awarded the No. 14 overall seed and a first-round bye.
The Hoosiers will play the Bradley-Tulsa winner Sunday at 6 p.m. at Armstrong Stadium. It is the 24th straight trip to the tournament for IU and 35th overall. The Hoosiers have an NCAA-best .742 (76-25-4) winning percentage in the tournament, while the 76 victories is also tops in the NCAA. Indiana has appeared in 17 College Cups, which leads all Division I teams, and won seven national titles, most recently in 2004.
IU’s record is 76-25-4?? How can you have ties in the playoffs??
I think this has to do with games that went to pks. I’m pretty sure every game that goes to pks except for the title game is officially ruled a tie even though one team ends up advancing.
Michael is correct. In the postseason, games that go to penalty kicks are technically recorded as ties.
