More From Fort Wayne Run ‘N Slam

I didn’t stick around for the third day of Run N’ Slam, but some updates from reports from there follow:

The Indiana Elite Team Indiana team with IU commitments Yogi Ferrell, Ron Patterson and Hanner Perea (as well as the injured Jeremy Hollowell and Peter Jurkin on the roster) reached the semifinals of the 17 and Under bracket before falling to All-Iowa Attack 66-63 in an extremely close ball game that came down to the final minute. IE trailed by 15 points at halftime but rallied back to tie the game before the end of the third quarter. Yogi Ferrell and Ron Patterson had 12 points each and Perea had 11.

The team of Hoosier commits breezed through their previous three games in bracket play including Sunday morning’s game. Ferrell scored 26 points in a win over All-Ohio in that game, part of a steller weekend for the Park Tudor junior point guard.

The Spiece Indy Heat 16 and under squad that includes 2014 verbal commitments Trey Lyles and James Blackmon Jr. as well as IU targetsĀ  P.J. Thompson and Trevon Bluiett lost in the quarterfinals on Sunday morning, losing to Meanstreets on a buzzer beater. Blackmon Jr. had 22 points in the loss and Lyles had 10.

  1. any more info about Jaquan Lyle with his tweet saying that he’s done with EG10? SIAP, and thanks guys for all the hard work.

  2. Why would anyone at IU be interested in this? Now that Drew Adams (Video Coordinator) has left, the Hoosiers no longer have any chance to recruit or keep Indiana Elite players (at least that’s the impression I get from posts on another story). All sarcasm aside, I think it’s Great that these guys are playing so well together. Things look good for the future (unless all of those Iowa guys go to Iowa).
