Hoosier Morning

1. HOOSIERS HQ

Former walk-on Daniel Moore hasn’t looked much like a walk-on in his limited minutes this year. He’s providing quite the spark for IU on defense, Dustin wrote.

As always, my IU review, post-Stetson.

2. INDIANA BASKETBALL

NBCSports.com is the first (I think) to give IU the bump into the NCAA Tournament in their projections. They have Indiana as a No. 8 seed against Wichita State. Thanks to Scoop reader Laffy for the heads-up on this one.

Never before have Indiana, Kentucky, and Louisville all started 8-0 in a season. But if Louisville wins as expected tonight, that’ll happen for the first time in history, Rick Bozich of the Louisville Courier Journal writes.

Steve Alford tells the Albuquerque Journal about his experience being honored at this week’s ’87 reunion. P.S. It says it’s subscription, but you can get through for free today to read the article.

3. BIG TEN FOOTBALL

ESPN released their final Big Ten Power Rankings for the football season, and without much surprise, Indiana is last. For better news, my basketball power rankings will come out this afternoon, and I can guarantee IU isn’t last.

4. COLLEGE BASKETBALL

Pat Summitt and Mike Krzyzewksi were honored by SI as this year’s Sportsman (and woman) of the Year. Rightfully so, in my opinion.

Andy Katz reviews last week’s college basketball action and says Indiana has been impressive and is a team capable of “causing lots of trouble” for Kentucky.

Wisconsin desperately needs help for Jordan Taylor, Jeff Borzello of CBSSports.com writes.
