Hoosier Morning

After a successful vacation, I’m back to work this week, and that means Hoosier Morning is back as well. A lot has happened since we last posted on here, but we’ll try to keep looking forward as Hoosier Morning embarks into 2012.

As always, my IU review, following the Hoosiers’ upset of No. 2 Ohio State.

Wisconsin big man Luke Fischer becomes the third IU commit in the Class of 2013 after watching IU’s win over Ohio State, Dustin wrote. Is he a new Cody Zeller waiting in the wings? He doesn’t claim to be the next Zeller, but he’d sure like to step in when Cody is gone.

Practice (and lots of it) makes Jordan Hulls and Cody Zeller the players they are today, Dustin wrote. Both had bad games against MSU, both hit the gym almost immediately after IU returned from East Lansing.

Hoosier women hope to continue their trend of road opener success in the Big Ten against Minnesota.

Inside the Hall did a Q&A with Luke Fischer and his father following Fischer’s commitment on Sunday. Fischer’s dad says he’d love to see his son step in after Zeller leaves for the NBA.

ESPN’s Andy Katz says that Tom Crean is a coach of the year candidate. Yeah, it’s a bit early to say stuff like that, but hey, why not?

Tim Etheridge of the Evansville Courier Press welcomes Cody Zeller to the Big Ten in his column.

Myron Medcalf of ESPN shows Indiana some love, as he has a lot lately, by putting the Hoosiers at No. 2 in his Big Ten Power Rankings. Michigan State comes in at No. 1.

Where IU stops, nobody knows, Avi Zaleon of the IDS writes.

Dylan Burkhardt of UM Hoops, one of the best CBB bloggers around, breaks down Michigan’s win over Minnesota. It’s an interesting look into IU’s next opponent.

Tom Izzo still isn’t ready to call his team great after a win over Nebraska, Joe Rexrode of the Lansing State Journal writes. But you have to think, this team is the class of the Big Ten right now.

Bob Baptist of the Columbus Dispatch writes about IU’s upset of Ohio State from the other side of the coin.

  1. IU came in at 12 and 12 in both bball polls. I have never been more excited about IU bball and more disinterested in IU football. I do hope for the best though in football but this bball team…just WOW!!!

  2. Haven’t seen the 4guards crowd anywhere in the blogland for a long, long time. That group has really been humiliated into oblivioun, hasn’t it? First, Sheehey and Oladipo turned out to be two of Crean’s best recruits, then came Zeller/Perea/Yogi/Patterson/Hollowell, and now we are 13-1 and standing at #12.

Those guys dropped quicker than John Edwards, Newt and Herman Cain combined.

  3. When I eat a pretzel with cheese, I rock my head. I hope IU does the same to Michigan on Thursday!

    To Mark R.,

Maybe we should make him do something even worse – lap dance at Night Moves lol
