Magic Johnson speaks

Former Michigan State star and Hall of Famer Magic Johnson held a press conference before his duty as an analyst in tonight’s Indiana-Michigan State game. Among the more interesting points, Johnson said that he expects at least 10 players from tonight’s game to end up playing at the next level, and that the conference is at its highest point since the late ’70s.

Which, of course, is when he played.

Plus, more interesting stuff. Take a listen.

  1. Magic said IU is going to be the favorite to cut-down the nets! I’ll take his word for it…Magic knows a little bit about winning and being a champion. Go IU!

  2. 10 players… In the NBA?

    Definites- Zeller, Dipo, Harris

Maybes – Watford, Dawson, Nix, Payne, Sheehey, Yogi, Hollowell, Valentine

Ok, I guess that 10 of those 11 could play at least 1 career minute in the NBA.

  3. Geoff, he said “at the next level,” which gives him some wiggle room. And I’d say even though Appling has been awful against IU, he’s at least as much of a maybe as Nix.
