Halstead taken by Twins in 26th round

Indiana junior closer Ryan Halstead was taken in the 26th round of the draft by the Minnesota Twins, joining teammates and roommates Dustin DeMuth and Aaron Slegers as Twins draftees.

Halstead was named an All-Big Ten third team pick this year, going 4-4 with a 2.43 ERA and a school-record 11 saves. His 22 career saves are also a school record.

  1. What’s the deal with the Twins? Are there IU ties with the Minnesota scouts, or were they just the bulk of the three dozen or so spectators at the Big Ten tourney?
