Hoosiers in Indy Pro Am

Here’s the official release from earlier today if you need a hoops fix:

INDIANAPOLIS, JULY 29, 2013 – The Knox Indy Pro Am begins its fifth year this Thursday, August 1 and brings with it a new format and temporary home, Cardinal Ritter High School (while IUPUI’s “The Jungle” undergoes a facelift). One of only a few NBA sanctioned pro ams in the country, the 2013 Knox Indy Pro Am will host only professional athletes from the NBA and Euro League in a 4-Team Round Robin tournament followed by a seeded single elimination championship playoff series. Carlos Knox, IUPUI Hall of Famer and League Director/Founder, has also added an 8PM Feature Game of the Week; tipping off Week 1 with a Purdue vs. IU match-up with JaJuan Johnson, E’Twaun Moore, DJ Byrd, and other familiar Boilermakers going up against Roderick Wilmont, DJ White, Jordan Hulls, and other favorite Hoosiers.

More Feature Games of the Week are in the works, and includes the Knox Indy Pro Am All-Stars vs. the Jamal Crawford All-Stars with Nate Robinson, Isaiah Thomas, and Terrence Williams to name just a few. Knox is excited about this new twist to his summer games and has had plenty of inquiries from other pro ams from around the country. “We hosted the Goodman League with John Wall two years ago” stated Knox. “It was a huge success and a lot of fun for our players and community. My hope is to build on that this summer, and to continue to offer one of the most competitive summer pro am leagues in the country.”

Regular league games are scheduled at Cardinal Ritter every Thursday evening through August 29 at 6:00 PM and7:00 PM, followed by the 8:00 PM Feature Game of the Week. Games are open to the public and admission for Week 1 is $15 online and $20 at the door. Children 12 and under are $5, and 2 and under are admitted free. Children’s tickets are not available online and may only be purchased at the door. A limited amount of tickets are available
