Wilson gives injury update on Big Ten call

Indiana coach Kevin Wilson went over mostly familiar territory on the Big Ten teleconference on Tuesday — he’s still not naming a quarterback and he’s still standing up for Tre Roberson — but he did give a brief injury update that was telling.

Wilson had said that defensive tackle Alex Todd has been out a significant amount of time, but hadn’t said — and hadn’t actually been asked — for a specific injury. He was asked Tuesday and said it was a “neck/shoulder deal” caused by a stinger. He said he’s hopeful to get Todd back this week, but said that the injury cost him strength and that it could keep him out for longer.

Wilson said defensive tackle Chris Cormier is back to practice, however, after having his knee scoped early in preseason camp. He said the only other player still out other than those who have season-ending injuries (Chase Hoobler and Dan Feeney) is left guard Bernard Taylor, who sprained his ankle in Saturday’s game. Wilson said he’s hopeful Taylor will return, but that he will evaluate him throughout the week.
