Hoosier Morning

The key to a better Indiana defense against Penn State was simple, Dustin writes.

IU running back Tevin Coleman has a chance to be a star, Brian Bennett of ESPN.com blogs.

A win at Michigan State would finally make him a believer, Bob Kravitz of the Indianapolis Star writes.

MSU coach Mark Dantonio and his defense await IU’s uptempo offense, Stephen Brooks of the Lansing State News writes.

Cody Zeller’s still learning, but made a positive impression in his preseason NBA debut, Tom Sorensen of the Charlotte Observer writes.

Just for the skeptical Bob Kravitz, here’s The Monkees with “Daydream Believer.”

  1. Some really good stuff this mourning.

Not sure if he meant to or not, but I think Kravitz’s comment at the end of his column represents that attitude of a great number of people in The Hoosier Nation. Clearly, if IU beats MSU this weekend, they will have made up for the loss to Navy and will show a lot of people that they’re really coming on.

I think we have a chance. I thought IU should have won last year (what a collapse), I think we’re a better team this year, and I suspect their defense notwithstanding, MSU is not as good this year as they were last year. But they’re at home, and that does make a difference. Go Hoosiers.

  2. Harvard,

You love getting me with Michael Jackson’s “Ben” so here is your receipt concerning your “Gummi” Chicago Bears.

Thanks for the inspiration Mariner/Husky/Rico. Yes, I admit. I watched this as a child.

  3. Ben, Podunker…an article that made me think of you. It explains how we must learn the process of becoming successful from the very, very best. By the way…Navy (and its Midshipmen) is cut out of the same tree and it explains why you never, ever short sell the best we have to offer. It will help you both understand the process of winning and leadership.

  4. For those that don’t know the origins of songs like Daft Punk’s “Get Lucky,” I give you Chic’s “Good Times.”

“Get Lucky” is a song by French house music duo Daft Punk, featuring Pharrell Williams and co-written with Nile Rodgers. It is the lead single from Daft Punk’s fourth studio album Random Access Memories.

“Get Lucky” was completed over the course of approximately 18 months. Daft Punk first met Nile Rodgers at a listening party in New York for the duo’s 1997 debut album Homework, and became friends thereafter(courtesy: Wikipedia)

Hoosiers over MSU = Good Times! …and them damn chrome helmets are Chic.

  5. Tsao,

Thanks for the link. Terrific article. I am leaving for work soon, but will discuss and blog about it when I get home tonight.
