Oladipo, Zeller named to USA Select Team

Former Indiana stars Victor Oladipo and Cody Zeller were named to the 2014 Team USA Select team, a group of young NBA players that will train with the Team USA men’s senior national team July 28-31 in Las Vegas in preparation for this year’s FIBA World Championships.

Joining them are Harrison Barnes (Golden State Warriors); Trey Burke (Utah Jazz);Jimmy Butler (Chicago Bulls); Draymond Green (Golden State Warriors), Tim Hardaway Jr. (New York Knicks); Tobias Harris (Orlando Magic); Doug McDermott (Chicago Bulls);Mason Plumlee (Brooklyn Nets); Miles Plumlee (Phoenix Suns); Marcus Smart (Boston Celtics); and Dion Walters (Cleveland Cavaliers);

  1. Are USA teams sorta like buying USDA beef….? Do you have an ascending depth of flavor in a game as you move from ‘Select,’ to ‘Choice,’ to ‘Prime?’ Just wondering because a ‘Prime’ McGary, with very little chance to put any extra marbling into his limited injury-hampered season, still made Miles Plumlee look like a lower level ‘Select’ cut in the NBA Development League.
