Update: Ohio linebacker’s commitment to IU not official

Indiana added another piece to its 2015 recruiting class Sunday night, picking up a verbal pledge from Ohio linebacker Chris Green.

Green, a senior at Toledo Central Catholic, tweeted the news on Sunday night.

Green is ranked as a three-star recruit by both Rivals and 247 Sports. According to Rivals, Green also had offers from Illinois and Penn State, among others.

The Ohio High School Athletic Association recently declared Green, 19, too old to play high school football this fall for Toledo Central Catholic. He told 247 Sports on Sunday night that he was in the process of graduating early.

Green is the 13th commit to Indiana’s 2015 class and the third in the last five days, joining Georgia athlete Andre Brown and Florida receiver Nick Westbrook.

UPDATE: Green deleted his tweet announcing his commitment and, according to 247 Sports’ Steve Wiltfong, the verbal commitment is not yet official.

  1. No rush. Chris Green can commit when he is fully ready, as long as the offer has not been pulled. It is always a “two-way” street.
