IU-Ottawa pregame notes

SAINT-LAMBERT, Quebec — We crossed the Saint Lawrence River to get to Saint-Lambert for today’s game against Ottawa University at Champlain Saint-Lambert College. Well, actually we took the metro under the Saint Lawrence River. But still.

We’re set for a 3 p.m. tip for IU-Ottawa. Per an IU spokesman, Hanner Mosquera-Perea is still working through visa-related issues and has not joined the team on the trip. It’s my understanding that they’re still working on it.

Jeremiah April is dressed, but is not participating in pregame drills, so it looks like he may miss his second game of the tour.

We’ve heard that Ottawa will be one of the better teams Indiana will face on this trip. The Gee-Gees upset Carleton, Monday’s opponent, last season to take a No. 1 seed into the Canadian Interuniversity Sport championships before falling to the Ravens in the finals. Ottawa did beat TCU last summer.

Indiana starters: Ferrell, Blackmon Jr., Johnson, Williams and Hoetzel, who is the only new addition to the lineup from Friday.

I’ll have updates throughout the day on Twitter, where you can find me at @MikeMillerHT.
