Mosquera-Perea reaches plea agreement for OWI arrest

Indiana forward Hanner Mosquera-Perea will spend the next year on probation after pleading guilty to a charge of operating a vehicle while intoxicated.

As part of a plea agreement, Mosquera-Perea was given a 60-day suspended jail sentence with credit for a day served, according to Monroe County Chief Deputy Prosecutor Bob Miller. Mosquera-Perea is also required to complete 50 hours of community service.

Under his probation, Mosquera-Perea will attend a victim impact panel, and it will be determined whether he will require any further treatment or counseling.

The junior was arrested by Indiana University Police in the early morning hours of Feb. 14 after a traffic stop in the 1200 block of East Atwater Avenue in Bloomington. Mosquera-Perea was suspended for two games after the incident. He finished the season averaging 2.8 points and 2.1 rebounds per game.
