More details below the fold:

NINTH: Indiana 10, Cal State Fullerton 4. Ryan Halstead on to pitch the ninth for IU, going for a series sweep and a 10th straight win.

END EIGHTH: Indiana 10, Fullerton 4. Luke Harrison comes in to pitch for IU.  Begins by fanning Jerrod Bravo with a change-up, then gets Scott Hurst with a fastball. A 1-2-3 Titan eighth. Casey Rodrigue led off IU’s half of the frame by ripping a double to right-center, taking third on Craig Dedelow’s groundout to the right side, then scoring on Brad Hartong’s lined single to center.

END SEVENTH: Indiana 9, Fullerton 4. Hoosiers hammered reliever Tyler Peitzmeier (who entered with a 1.69 ERA on the season) with a leadoff single by Craig Dedelow, an erred bunt, a Scott Donley walk and then back-to-back 2-RBI doubles from Logan Sowers (to the fence in right-center) and Austin Cangelosi (screamer down the leftfield line.)

Dave Stieb was hit by a pitch to lead off the Fullerton seventh, but a pair of flyouts and a batter’s interference call saw Bell get out of the inning unscathed.

BOTTOM SIXTH: Indiana 5, Fullerton 4. A leadoff single by Scott Donley, a walk by Logan Sowers and single to right by Austin Cangelosi loaded the bases and chased reliever Connor Seabold. Tyler Peitzmeier then came on to walk Will Nolden to forge a 4-4 tie. After a nearly-successful squeeze bunt went foul, Brian Wilhite delivered a lined sac fly to left to score Cangelosi and given IU the lead. Evan Bell has 3 strikeouts and 5 outs recorded through five hitters so far for IU in relief. Fullerton brings in Connor Seabold to pitch the bottom of the sixth.

END FIFTH: Fullerton 4, Indiana 3. Josh Estill massive 3-run homer to left gives Fullerton the lead right back. It followed a leadoff walk by Tyler Stieb and lined single to right by David Olmedo-Barrera. When Jake Jefferies followed with a flyout to deep dead center, Jake Kelzer’s day was done and Evan Bell came on to pitch for IU. Bell fanned the two hitters he faced in the frame. Indiana then went 1-2-3 in the bottom of inning, with Casey Rodrigue’s lineout to first followed by two flyouts.

END FOURTH: Indiana 3 Fullerton 1. Two-out triples by IU’s Austin Cangelosi and Isaiah Pasteur highlighted the Hoosiers’ 3-run rally. Both went off the outstretched glove of Fullerton centerfielder Josh Vargas, Cangelosi’s in right-center (where Vargas became the second Titan outfielder in as many innings to make the acquaintance of the Bart Kaufman Field fence) and Pasteur’s in left-center. Jerrod Bravo smacked a leadoff double off the leftfield fence, was sacrificed to third by Scott Hurst, then came home on a groundout to short by A.J. Kennedy.

END THIRD: 0-0. Still scoreless due to great defense. After Casey Rodrigue drew a one-out walk for IU, Craig Dedelow drove a ball to the fence in right center. Fullerton rightfielder Scott Hurst made a spectacular, leaping, backhand snap while plowing into the wall. While down, he flipped the ball to centerfielder Josh Vargas to start a 9-8-6-3 double-play. In the top of the inning, Indiana shortstop Brian Wilhite made a pair of slick plays to lead off the inning, then Logan Sowers held Josh Estill to a single by cutting off a lined shot into the leftfield corner to help keep the Titans at bay again.

END SECOND: 0-0. Relatively uneventful second. Fullerton got a two-out single and IU a two-out walk, but the runners stayed at first.

FIRST INNING: 0-0. Kelzer pitched out of a bases-loaded, one-out jam in the top of the first and Fullerton counterpart John Gavin overcame an error by virtue of a 4-6-3 double play to get out of a one-out, two-on situation in the bottom of the inning.
