Kevin Wilson announces spring changes, injuries

Spring practice begins this morning for the IU football team and, as such, Indiana coach Kevin Wilson has announced the following position changes, scholarship winners and injuries ahead of the team’s first meeting.

Of note, Chris Covington has switched back from quarterback to linebacker in a move that should surprise virtually nobody and Nick Mangieri is moving from bandit to defensive line, presumably yielding the bandit position to Zack Shaw. We’ve also heard that Nile Sykes, a Notre Dame transfer who redshirted last season, could get a look at bandit. We’ll see. It’s also worth pointing out that quarterback Nate Sudfeld isn’t listed on the injury report. Wilson said in January that he expected Sudfeld to be ready for spring practice.

  1. With regard to this type of news, the less the better.

And I’m glad to see that the Linebacker to Quarterback experiment is over.
