IU close to hiring new director of ops #iubb

The Herald-Times has confirmed a report from Peegs.com’s Jeff Rabjohns that Indiana is set to hire Brett Burman as its new director of basketball operations.

Burman most recently held the same position under Frank Haith at Tulsa. He also worked as a graduate assistant for Haith at the University of Miami, working on video and opponent scouting. Burman spent a season as Hofstra’s video coordinator and has NBA experience with the Detroit Pistons, for whom he served as assistant video coordinator. He also scouted for the Fort Wayne Mad Ants in the D-League.

Burman would replace Rob Judson, who appears likely to fill the current assistant coach position on IU’s bench. Judson has been on the recruiting trail for Indiana all summer.

  1. FWIIW Just read Rob Judson’s bio. Impressive, he has a ton of coaching experience with some of it being for Lon Kruger and Bill Self. Lots of that experience co-mingled with lots of program(s) successes. He must want to stay in the Indiana/Illinois locale as he has never moved away which kinda explains why he is not a head coach somewhere. I wonder what his future plan is?
