Reports: Emmitt Holt heading to junior college #iubb

Former Indiana forward Emmitt Holt is headed to junior college.

Holt will attend Indian Hills Community College this year, according to Alex Kline of The Recruit Scoop. Kline previously reported through Twitter that Holt was on St. Bonaventure’s campus on Saturday. He has three years of eligibility remaining.

Holt, who was dismissed from the IU program on Aug. 31, averaged 3.6 points and three rebounds during his freshman season at IU.

The 19-year-old Holt, along with incoming Indiana freshman Thomas Bryant, was cited by Indiana State Excise police for illegal possession of alcohol on Aug. 21. It was Holt’s second off-the-court incident in less than a year at Indiana.

Last November, Holt was cited for illegal consumption and operating a vehicle with a blood alcohol content above 0.02. On that occasion, former teammate Devin Davis jumped in front of and was struck by a vehicle Holt was driving on 17th street outside Memorial Stadium. Officers determined that both players had been drinking and that Davis was at fault. Holt registered a BAC of 0.025.
