Hoosiers ring opening bell at NYSE #iufb

NEW YORK — Forget the bell, Kevin Wilson started the day with a fist pump.

Wilson, IU athletic director Fred Glass and players Andre Booker, Nick Mangieri and Anthony Corsaro were front and center during Thursday’s opening bell at the New York Stock Exchange. The Hoosiers, along with representatives from Duke and the Pinstripe Bowl, took part in the event as an extension of this week’s off-the-field experience for the teams in New York City.

On Tuesday, the teams saw a show from comedian Hannibal Buress at Carolines on Broadway, and were later guests at the Radio City Music Hall Christmas Spectacular on Wednesday evening. The Empire State Building has also been a part of this week’s bowl festivities, with the spire lit in IU’s cream and crimson and Duke’s blue on Wednesday night.

We’ll have our first meeting with IU players tonight at Yankee Stadium during Pinstripe Bowl media day. A press conference with coach Kevin Wilson will follow on Thursday morning.

Stick around, folks. Much more to come later today.

  1. Good to see that Andre Booker got the opportunity to represent IU at the NYSE. He lost his scholly in 2015, but he never quit. In turn, he made some monster catches for IU down the stretch, and likely has a bright career in business ahead of him. Now let’s go beat Duke on Saturday, and bring home a winning season for the glory of ‘Ol IU!
