Spriggs, Feeney add 1st-Team All-American honors

The college football award season has been good to Indiana linemen Jason Spriggs and Dan Feeney.

The IU upperclassmen added first-team All-American honors to their trophy cases on Monday, with Spriggs receiving the honor from the Football Writers Association of America and Feeney receiving his selection from ESPN.com.

Spriggs and Feeney are the first offensive line duo to earn first team honors during the same season in program history. They’re the fifth and sixth first team All-American offensive linemen in IU history, joining Gary Cassells (1967), Tom Schuette (1966), Don Croftcheck (1964) and John Tavener (1944).

Spriggs, a senior left tackle, has also received All-American honors this month from the Walter Camp Football Foundation (second team), Associated Press (third team) and SI.com (honorable mention).

Feeney, a redshirt junior right guard, previously picked up All-American nods from Associated Press (second team), CBS Sports (second team) and SI.com (honorable mention).
