IUWBB: Corsaro narrows list to IU, Michigan, UCLA

Indiana is one of three schools still in the mix for McDonald’s All-American guard Lindsey Corsaro, according to her father, Greg.

At one point, the senior from Indianapolis Roncalli was considering seven schools, including Baylor, Tennessee, Texas and Washington. She has now trimmed that list. She took an official visit to UCLA this past weekend, and will be visiting Michigan tomorrow.

Corsaro’s visit to IU is currently scheduled for next week. Corsaro, at 6-feet, is considered a five-star prospect by ESPN. The site ranks her as the No. 35 prospect in the country.

Corsaro originally committed to Kentucky, but reopened her recruitment in April after a flurry of player and coach departures from Lexington this offseason.

IU received a commitment last week from grad transfer Amber Deane, who played nine games for Dayton as a senior, averaging 15.3 points per game. Corsaro would give the Hoosiers yet another option in the backcourt, and the kind of high-impact, in-state recruit head coach Teri Moren has coveted since her arrival in August 2014.

  1. If they Corsaro they’ll be a 20 team for sure next season possible sweet 16 team

  2. This is the moment for a Cody Zeller type of recruit for the woman’s program. Good luck Lady Hoosiers! Lindsey you will look great in Candy Stripes!

  3. Had it not been for the successfull season IU had we would not even be considered. The program has made huge steps in just two years. IM sure IU will welcome Lindsey with open arms on her official here on June 1-2. Lindsey could be the missing link for IU. Here’s hoping Lindsey makes this her new home. Go IU!!

  4. T. Moren has placed IU women program on a solid foundation in a rather short period of time. To her and staff along with current players credit, this program is on an upswing. Great fit for L.C. Better fit than MICH. UCLA is kind of intriguing but so is IU with great team building that equals great team chemistry and what IU women can become. Hopefully, next year there is a player at least 6’3″ that is a highly recruited center can end up at IU to go along with what is already here along with L.C.

  5. t, as Archer has provided us with the video of Linsey Marchese, 6′ 4″ center from Georgia who verbally committed to IU early last year, we are able to see the girl that you are hoping we get. When she verballed last year, I saw this same video and came on the website and mentioned that this girl looks like the “real deal” so to speak! After viewing the video, how can you not be impressed by her ability to run the floor, her excellent foot work around the basket, the ability to use both hands with ease and her defensive awareness around the basket. t, she is what you are speaking of! Thank you Archer for bring this video to the website so that all women’s IU supporters can see what is coming our way if she honors her verbal commitment when the time comes to sign on the dotted line.
Now, if only Corsaro will come our way, we will continue this strong move upwards in the conference and upward in the national polls. Go Hoosiers!!

  6. Oh, I remember her making commitment now. Slipped my mind about her. Thanks…Womens/Girls information is scarce as compared to the guys. Good information and video Archer. Appreciate reminder Mike C and Archer.

    1. Might I recommend checking my weekly in-season updates in Trending Now to keep up with the likes of Linsey Marchese. Unfortunately, I’ll admit that the other ’17 recruit, 6-1 Alexis Johnson, has a scarcity of information available.
