Dedelow returning to #iubase for senior season

Indiana University outfielder Craig Dedelow has decided to return to the Hoosiers for his senior season, the school announced on Tuesday.

Dedelow was selected by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the 34th round of the 2016 MLB Draft earlier this month, but the 1,035th overall pick opted to try and better his standing by returning to Indiana.

The outfielder and Munster native is coming off a 2016 season that saw Dedelow earn third team All-Big Ten honors by hitting .302 with five home runs, 16 doubles and two triples. In conference play, Dedelow was tied for fourth in total bases (52), tied for fifth in home runs (4), tied for 10th in hits (32) and was 11th in slugging percentage (.510).

Redshirt junior pitcher Jake Kelzer, a Bloomington South grad, has reportedly signed with the Philadelphia Phillies, who took him with the 527th overall pick in the 18th round.
