Indiana sets pair of basketball exhibitions

A pair of exhibition games are on the horizon for Indiana.

The Hoosiers will host Hope College on Tuesday, Nov. 1 at Assembly Hall, and will reportedly follow with a second exhibition against Bellarmine on Saturday, Nov. 5. Hope’s athletic department announced its matchup with IU on Tuesday. WDRB’s Rick Bozich reported the Bellarmine game last month.

The Flying Dutchmen are coming off a 24-4 season at the Division III level. Hope is based in Holland, Mich.

“Considering Coach Crean’s ties to Michigan and the Michigan intercollegiate Athletic Association, he knows full well how awesome it will be for our players, coaching staff and fans to experience one of the most unique and historical venues in all of college basketball,” Hope coach Greg Mitchell said. “I appreciate the chance he has extended to us and we are thrilled to compete on that stage against an incredible opponent in the Hoosiers.”

IU used Bellarmine as a regular season tuneup last November, beating the Knights 73-62 at Assembly Hall.

  1. Tijan, Bawa, Jurkin, and Perea should have attended the tiny Christian school in Michigan….supplying their always hopeful fans with ample A-HOPE at Hope.

The Flying Dutchmen from Holland…? Now who’s chasing windmills?
