IU suspends 6 players prior to season opener #iufb

Indiana has suspended six players for tonight’s season opener at Florida International.

In a statement released prior to the game, IU announced one-game suspensions for leading receiver Simmie Cobbs, safety Chase Dutra, defensive tackle Ralph Green III, cornerback Noel Padmore and defensive back Jake Attar. Another corner, Wesley Green, is suspended indefinitely.

The players are held out “for not living up to their responsibilities to the program at different times since the conclusion of the 2015 season,” according to IU’s statement.

Kickoff for tonight’s game is scheduled for 7:30.

  1. I don’t recall hearing any news about them being in trouble with the law, so what’s up? “not living up to their responsibilities to the program…..” Hhhmmm.

  2. I read and heard some scuttlebutt starting last weekend but no names other than Big Ralph and Simmie. Wilson has a long memory and this just had to be. Wesley Green is the 1 I’m surprised about with the indefinite suspension.
