Wilson updates injuries ahead of Northwestern

Indiana continues to monitor the recovery of right guard Dan Feeney, who has not played since the second quarter on Sept. 10 against Ball State.

Feeney remains under concussion protocol, and IU coach Kevin Wilson said he wasn’t sure if the All-American would be ready to return on Saturday at Northwestern. Wilson did echo his comments from last week, saying Feeney has increased his workload behind the scenes during the past few weeks.

“We’ll see if Dan gets back,” Wilson said.

IU is less optimistic about the potential upcoming returns of right tackle Dimitric Camiel, tight end Jordan Fuchs and receiver Simmie Cobbs. Camiel had back surgery to repair a bulging disk last month, Fuchs also had surgery last month to fix a dislocated ankle suffered in the season opener, and Cobbs is coming off surgery to repair a broken ankle.

“I think most of those guys would be, at best, (ready to return by a possible) bowl. “It’s a long time off.”
