IU, Kansas to wear commemorative jerseys in Hawaii

Indiana and Kansas will take on an altered appearance when the two schools meet in Hawaii for next week’s season opener.

The Hoosiers and Jayhawks will wear commemorative uniforms to recognize the 75th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor. The Nov. 11 game in Honolulu coincides with Veterans Day.

IU’s uniforms are red with a digital camouflage base and horizontal candy stripes sewn down the sides of the jersey. Nameplates on the back of Indiana’s jerseys will read “COURAGE” and will include a special Pearl Harbor seal along the neckline.

Kansas’ uniforms are blue with a digital camouflage base and white stars sewn along the sides of the jersey. Adidas is the official outfitter of both programs.

Tipoff next Friday is scheduled for 9 p.m. Eastern.

  1. Although I’m s big fan of the Hoosier’s traditional uniforms, I do embrace the alternative uniform.
