3:17 (4Q): This game is being won on the defensive end. Only two points for Penn State this quarter. 58-47, IU

4:52 (4Q): Hoosiers doing a better job on the defensive end this quarter. A big push-off call on Teniya Page with Tyra Buss guarding. Alexis Gassion puts up those long arms and Page misses a layup, and the Hoosiers getting scores on the other end. It’s 54-47, IU. 

END OF THIRD: Penn State 45, IU 44. Teri Moren slammed scorer’s table after final possession. Tyra Buss was swiped on behind-the-back dribble, appeared to come up the court a little too slow with only a few seconds left in the third.

4:40 (3Q): Indiana’s shooting percentage down to 39.5 percent. Very difficult to score against Penn State’s athleticism.

HALFTIME: Indiana 31, Penn State 27. Tyra Buss with the little floater at the buzzer to give the fans something to cheer about. Buss leads IU with nine points. Alexis Gassion scores six points and also dishes four assists. Amanda Cahill with seven rebounds.

PSU shoots 33 percent from the field, 2-of-10 from 3. Teniya Page with eight points.

4:57 (2Q): Penn State makes a little run, bringing it to 19-18 and then 21-20. Indiana able to create some breathing room with a post basket for Jenn Anderson and then a free-throw-line jumper for Alexis Gassion. 

END OF FIRST: Indiana 19, Penn State 14. PSU is 6-of-16 from the field with five turnovers. Karlee McBride leads the Hoosiers in scoring with six, both me on 3s that started IU’s run.

1:30 (1Q): Indiana has awoken from its early first-quarter slumber. Hoosiers getting defensive stops, go off on a 12-0 run. Lead 18-12

  1. Fun team to watch. 20+ trips to foul line in the 4th quarter was a bit much. I know I’m old but #5 looks like she should be a freshman in HS.
