IUWBB: No. 20 Michigan at Indiana

FINAL: Indiana 72, Michigan 61. Big win for the Hoosiers, beating the third-place team in the Big Ten. Hoosiers in fourth.

1:00 (4Q): Michigan reduced the lead to 10 with five minute left, but Hoosiers holding steady now. Up 71-59.

END OF THIRD: Indiana 61, No. 20 Michigan 42. Hoosiers firmly in control. This would be a huge win for NCAA tournament hopes

4:56 (3Q): Michigan showing a little life, pulling it to within 51-35 with two 3s, but Wolverines hurt themselves with two empty possession. Missed layup, then a travel.

HALFTIME: Indiana 40, No. 20 Michigan 22. Great start for the Hoosiers, in search of a top 25 win. Shot 6-of-13 from 3. Buss and McBride both with 12 points still. Hallie Thome only with two points, 1-of-3 from the field.

4:38 (2): Karlee McBride is reminding us all of the “microwave” scorer that hit big 3s last year. She is 4-of-7 from 3 thus far. Buss is 2-of-4 from beyond the arc, and also has 12 points.

END OF FIRST: Indiana 23, Michigan 8. Alexis Gassion hits a three-point play to end period. Hoosiers shoot 56 percent from the field. A 13-0 run to end the period, and basically the best start imaginable for the Hoosiers.

4:56 (1): Hoosiers out to a 12-8 lead. Two crucial buckets late in the shot clock, one by Amanda Cahill, a 3, and another a drive by Tyra Buss. Buss also hit a 3.

Indiana looks to get its first win over a top 25 foe this season, as No. 20 Michigan visits Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall. Check back here for updates, or follow on Twitter, @Jon_Blau.

  1. How did the ladies lose so much of their lead so eloquently?
Lost a little concentration in the 4th.
Passing, Screening, Cutting, Hustle, Shooting, Defense, Energy, Effort, Teamwork, Substitutions, Starters, Bench Play all @ the home gym…..the result of ladies love playing together and excellent teaching plus coaching by T.Moren is a fierce competitor that rubs off onto her team and staff. Lady love demonstrated on the court.

Did K.R. play forward last year? She does not look comfortable @ center.
