IU to host Youngstown State on Dec. 29

Another non-conference opponent on next season’s Indiana schedule has been revealed.

IU will host Youngstown State on Dec. 29 at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall, YSU’s athletic department announced on Wednesday.

It will be the first meeting between the programs.

The Penguins (13-21) finished ninth in the 10-team Horizon League last season, ending the year at No. 252 in ESPN’s RPI rankings and No. 282 in the KenPom.com rankings. They’ll be starting over this fall with first-year coach Jerrod Calhoun, who led Fairmont State to the Division II final last season.

On the floor, Youngstown State returns leading scorer Cameron Morse, who led the Horizon League with 23.2 points per game in conference play.

Indiana typically does not release its full non-conference schedule until early September. Here’s a list of the matchups that have been confirmed for next season:

Nov. 12: vs. Howard
Nov. 15: at Seton Hall (Gavitt Games)
Nov. 19: vs. South Florida

Dec. 9: at Louisville

In addition to these games, Indiana will also play two Big Ten games during the first week of December.
