Things to know for ESPN’s College GameDay broadcast in Bloomington

Heading to Memorial Stadium for Thursday’s season opener? Hoping to catch ESPN’s on-site broadcast of “College GameDay”?

Here are a few things to keep in mind.

This week’s episode won’t include the typical GameDay setup, meaning the set itself won’t be surrounded by fans. ESPN’s crew will be positioned in the southeast corner of the field, just beyond the end zone, so fans hoping to get on television will have to try from the stands.

Obviously, field access won’t be granted while Indiana and Ohio State are warming up.

Fans who enter the stadium at 5:30 p.m. through gates E8, W2 and W4 will be asked to sit in Sections 31 and 32 to be as close to the modified GameDay set as possible. GameDay will be shown live on the new videoboard attached to the North End Zone complex.

And don’t get too crazy with the signs.

IU’s event management staff reserves the right to approve all signs prior to entry, so signs should contain no offensive or obscene language. But I’m sure you all can get creative.

All stadium gates will open at 6 p.m.
