Gameday central: Indiana vs. Illinois

Following an 11-day layoff, Indiana is back on the court.

The Hoosiers open the second leg of Big Ten play against Illinois on Thursday night at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall. IU will once again operate short-handed without starting point guard Rob Phinisee, who will miss his second consecutive game with a concussion. Indiana coach Archie Miller said on his pregame radio segment that Phinisee is getting better and “acting like himself” again.

Junior Devonte Green will start in Phinisee’s place.

“As injuries have made an impact in the month of January, he’s become a primary guy for us,” Miller said of Green.

    1. Like that old Lou Holtz line.

‘Coach, what due you think of your team’s execution?’

Holtz, ‘I’m in favor of it.’

  1. We’ll likely snatch this victory but it’s pretty obvious how far we’ll get with Green running this offense. We have one point guard….and only one. Don’t get me wrong, he’s very good.

  2. I’d rather listen to Gabby Hayes sing long hair in Sorrento than listen to Raftery.

  3. Our defense is seemed like we are up 20 even when the game was tied at halftime….. (but gosh, Illinois has an offense that is pathetique)
